Presenting the Solution

Kate draws out the beginnings of the cause and effect diagram by first creating a statement in the form of a question of the effect or problem, which becomes the head of the fish:

“Paul, which one of the following statements would be the most appropriate for the results you need or the head of the fish?”

  1. Can we hold productive and effective meetings?
  2. How do we have productive and effective meetings?
  3. What will happen if we don’t have productive and effective meetings?
  4. What will happen if we do have productive and effective meeting?

This question targets the effect – unproductive meetings by asking how it can be changed.
