Presenting the Solution
Kate draws out the beginnings of the cause and effect diagram by first creating a statement in the form of a question of the effect or problem, which becomes the head of the fish:
“Paul, which one of the following statements would be the most appropriate for the results you need or the head of the fish?”
- Can we hold productive and effective meetings?
- How do we have productive and effective meetings?
- What will happen if we don’t have productive and effective meetings?
- What will happen if we do have productive and effective meeting?
This question targets the effect – unproductive meetings by asking how it can be changed.
